How do I trigger on new or changed memberships in my funnels?

The Paid Membership Pro Extension for Groundhogg offers you the following options in the included benchmark:

  • Trigger on any membership change
  • Trigger when a specific membership(s) are added to a user
  • Trigger when a specific membership(s) are cancelled or removed from a user

Note: As Paid Membership Pro (PMP) can support multiple membership levels per user, these benchmarks permit you to detect single or multiple changes of memberships.

To get started, open a new funnel in Groundhogg and choose Add Step and review the Benchmarks. Add the PMP benchmark to your funnel:

By default, the selected option will be triggered for any membership change and will look as so:

In this configuration, the funnel will be triggered for any change in a users membership either the addition or removal/cancellation of membership. This set up is ideal for capturing all new members, regardless of their membership level.

If you wish to trigger for a specific level addition, that is the user is granted access to a specific membership level, you should choose the following set up:

In this configuration, the funnel will only trigger if a user is added or assigned, to the Junior membership level in Paid Membership Pro.

Alternatively, if you wish to trigger for membership cancellations or removals, you would set up your benchmark as follows:

In this setup, the funnel would trigger if the user cancelled or is removed from the Netflix or Executive Levels of membership in PMP.
