# How can I tag a customer in Intercom when they purchase on WooCommerce?

Our plugin can add, and remove, tags in Intercom when a customer purchases a given product. To start, open the product editor in WooCommerce.

**Important**: Tags must exist in Intercom. Therefore, ensure you add the tags to Intercom *before* you start this process.

1. Check the **Intercom** box, and then click **Intercom** in the sidebar.
2. Enter the tags you wish to add or remove when that product is purchased.
