# How do I control what files and folders a student has access to?

With WooNinja File Share, we use the concept of Accesses. These allow you to finely control what files and folders a student has access to, and when they have access. For example, you can:

- Choose if a student on a free preview or trial can access a folder
- Allow alumni, or those students that have completed your course, to access your materials
- Stop students with expired enrolments from access your content

To get started, open your Access Manager @ https://files.wooninja.io/access

From there, you can add a new access or edit an existing one using the applicable sections:

In the example above, a student who is enrolled in the Accounting Course has access to a folder called Accounting Books. However, it does not allow students who only have a free trial or preview to access them.
