# How do I permit, or whitelist, certain students so that rules don’t apply to them?

1. Open your account and click **Settings**
2. Under the section **whitelist**, enter the domain e.g. example.com or the email e.g. example@example.com of the users you want the rule engine to ignore.
3. Click **Save**

Any domain or email entered in this setting will be ignored by the system.

**Use Cases**

- You are aware of certain students that will trigger rules but they are permitted to, therefore you do not need to be notified.
