# How do I set the default user permissions for the Thinkific Dashboard?

By default, when a User is created in the dashboard, they will no permissons.

1. To set the defaults, open your dashboard and navigate to **Profile and Settings,** via the dropdown in the top right corner

2. Scroll the section Default User Permissions and tick the boxes of the default permissions you wish to grant new users.

Don't forget to click **Save**

**Important**

- These permissions apply to new user accounts in the dashboard only. They do not apply to existing accounts.
- Permissions are for the dashboard only, they do not influence the role or permission of the user in Thinkific
