Thinkific Combine & Conquer – Funnels (Part 2 of 5)

To follow along, you will need:

  • A Mailchimp Account (Or similar email provider)
  • A Zapier Account (Or similar service e.g. Automate.io)
  • A Typeform Account

Summary

In this video, we’ll create a Contact Us form using TypeForm and embed it on your Thinkific site. This form will automatically trigger a mail in Mailchimp with an FAQ. After a delay of a few days, we will follow up with the user to check if they got a reply.

Before You Watch the Video

Steps

  1. Open Typeform and create a new form. You can create your own or use a template. Ensure your form has first & last name field, in addition to an email. You will need these fields for Mailchimp.
  2. Open Zapier and create a new Zap. Choose Typeform as your trigger and connect your Typeform account if you have not already. For the event type, choose New Entry.
  3. For the second part of your Zap, choose Mailchimp and Add/Update Subscriber as the Event
  4. Choose your audience, enter the subscriber email and apply the Contact Us tag, in addition to the First and Last Name.
  5. Open Mailchimp and click Automations, followed by Customer journeys, then Create Journey (Top right corner)
  6. Give your journey a name e.g. Contact Us Funnel, then click Start Building
  7. Click Choose Starting point, then Tag added. Choose the Contact Us tag
  8. Add a journey point and send an email (This email should be a brief FAQ), then add a time delay of between 1 and 3 days.
  9. Add an if/else based on if a user has either a New User or Fully Enrolled tag. This ensures we don’t follow up with users that are already students. If a user is not tagged, send them a follow up email to check if they were satisfied with their request.

When complete, your Mailchimp customer journey will look similar to the following:

10) Don’t forget to embed your Typeform in Thinkific. I recommend using a custom page in Thinkific e.g. Contact Us, and adding your FAQ above the form. To embed your form, simply add a Text & media section to this page using Thinkific site builder and paste the embed code into a </> code view editor (See recourses below)
