Our plugin can permit you to sell coupon codes for your Thinkific course. Common use cases for this include:
- A user wishes to gift your course to another user
- You wish to sell courses to a company e.g. A user may wish to buy 25 licenses for their team, so you can sell them 25 access codes
- You wish to offer tier pricing for bulk purchases e.g. 5 access codes have a different price to 25 access codes etc
- Create or use an existing product in WooCommerce. We recommend creating specific products for coupons to avoid confusion with enrollable products. Furthermore, subscriptions are not supported and we recommend using simple products without variants.
- Click Thinkific, then the Thinkific tab. Enable Create Coupon(s)
In this example, we are setting up a coupon which will take 100% off the cost of two courses (Admin and Account Course). We are also creating multiple codes that can only be used once. The coupons will expire 1 year and 1 day from the date of purchase on WooCommerce.
Recommendations
- Use a single code that can be used multiple times, as opposed to multiple codes that can be used once. In the latter case, purchasers lose track of which codes have been used and this can increase your administration.
- If a coupon can be applied to more than one course, and those courses are generally taken together, we recommend using Thinkific Bundles instead of attaching multiple courses.
- If you apply a Thinkific group, only one group will be used.
By default, the plugin includes a configurable email which will inform a customer of how to use their coupon including a direct link to the checkout. Note that WooNinja does not offer support for customising this email, please refer to WooCommerce’s documentation
