Intercom has strict requirements for how long it will wait for your WooCommerce site to reply to Canvas Kit requests. In general, this must be under 5 seconds. Importantly, this time is not determined by our plugin; rather, it is a product of your hosting and database capabilities.
If you continually see this message, consider the following:
- Check Intercom is not being blocked from accessing your site. For example, if you use WordFence or similar plugins, or CDN services like Cloudflare, which can block requests
- We recommend dedicated hosting and databases, not shared hosting. Our host of choice is Rocket.net
- Use caching services like Redis to reduce your database load and decrease lookup load times.
We do not offer refunds if your server setup cannot respond to Intercom in a timely fashion.
